Mechanics of Materials I — This course expands on subjects covered in the Introduction to Engineering Mechanics and in Applications in Engineering Mechanics courses. Here, you will focus on axial loading and gain an understanding of what causes stress and strain on solid objects, which will help you problem solve and plan according to design-stable structures. Learn methods that are used to predict the response of engineering structures to various types of loading, and to analyze the vulnerability of these structures to various failure modes.
