Mech of Materials II — This course explores the analysis and design of thin-walled pressure vessels and engineering structures subjected to torsion. The course will look at real-world applications for thin-walled pressure vessels, such as gas storage tanks, simple spray cans, and techniques that could even be used to analyze blimps. In the torsion part of the course, you will study techniques used for analyzing and designing torsion bar suspensions, such as the ones used in cars or track vehicles.
