MARCOR: Supply Chain Mngt — Supply chain management describes the objectives, processes and functions of supply chain management. The supply chain management course includes the principles and concepts of supply chain management and statistical concepts. The course includes a review of the dimensions of logistics including demand management, forecasting, the order fulfillment cycle and the full range of customer service. Managing inventory flows in the supply chain is covered and the critical role of the warehouse in the supply chain is also covered. The role of transportation and transportation management in the supply chain and in linking key elements of the supply chain is discussed. The role and application of modern information systems and technologies in the supply chain are covered in the course. A key objective of the course is to emphasize supply chain as an integrated inter-enterprise process. The importance of the inter-enterprise order fulfillment process, the role of information systems, and developing and maintaining supply chain relationships are a key focus the focus of this course. Supply chain performance covering the total supply chain is also part of the primary objective including supply chain finance and financial measures. One of the key objectives for the course is the review of ongoing research, new concepts and future supply chain challenges. Extensive use of cases studies that are adapted from real situations and projects are incorporated in the course. Additionally, participants will learn best practices in supply chain management. Participants will learn to apply analytical techniques to SCM problems in the LOGCOM environment. The course is designed to equip participants with the necessary skills to facilitate improved problem-solving ability, critical thinking skills, and the ability to communicate
