MARCOR: Warehouse Distribution — Warehouse operations are a critical component of supply chain operations. The more efficient your operations, the easier it is to ship and receive items and to meet customers’ expectations. Efficient operations only occur when receiving; storing, shipping and picking operations are effectively organized and executed. To a large extent the efficiency and effectiveness of these operations are dependent on the overall design and layout of the warehouse. A well-planned warehouse layout will help reduce operating costs by improving warehouse processes and inventory control. In this course, you will learn to apply field-proven techniques, which focus on layout planning, methods selection, space optimization, and material handling to make your layout the most efficient it can be. Extensive use of cases studies that are adapted from real situations and projects are incorporated in the course. Additionally, participants will learn best practices in warehouse design and layout. This course focuses on warehouse design, material handling and distribution problems. The role and application of modern information systems and technologies in the warehouse are covered in the course. All techniques presented are field-proven and derived from successful implementation. Case exercises are adapted from real situations and projects. Participants will learn to apply a structured warehouse design and layout approach, tools and techniques to the LOGCOM environment. The course is designed to equip participants with the necessary skills to facilitate improved critical thinking skills, and the ability to communicate in this field.
