OSHA 7515: Job Haz Analysis — An important tool in developing an effective safety program is the proactive process of identifying hazards and hazardous situations before employees are exposed. A Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), sometimes also referred to as a Job Safety Analysis (JSA), is a method used to consider potential hazards for both commonly performed jobs AND non-routine tasks BEFORE people begin work. This short course will guide you to explore potential consequences of completing a job or task, and how to use that information to reduce risk. include the purpose and requirements of a job hazard analysis, the relationship between worker tasks and tools in a work environment, strategies for identifying job hazards before they occur, and techniques for completing a thorough JHA. Students will participate in activities utilizing a job hazard analysis.
