Organization Theory, 3 credit hours — A broad overview of the theoretical issues pertaining to the management of organizations. The course explores both "macro" (i.e. external relations, strategies, and structures) organizational issues. While this is a survey course, we will be concentrating much of our attention on current challenges to bureaucracy as a form of organization. In particular, we will be using theories to examine trends toward re-engineering corporations or re-inventing government agencies. Satisfies policy implementation, management, and organization theory requirement.
