Intro to GIS — Introduction to the application of geographic information systems (GIS) to public policy issues. Students develop an understanding of GIS software and hardware components, develop facility with a desktop GIS software package, explore digital data availability on the Internet, learn data transfer procedures, learn cartographic projection methods, apply GIS and environmental management data to analyze a selected program.
